4. Be prepared to discuss the following statement, looking for ideas that are new and looking to sustain "expanding thinking" as you reflect about it. What does this statement have to do with educational leadership?

 

 

"Science as something already in existence, already completed, is the most objective, impersonal thing that we humans know. Science as something coming into being, as a goal, is just as subjectively, psychologically conditioned as are all other human endeavors. ... It is in fact nothing short of a miracle that modern methods of instruction have not yet entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry; for this delicate little plant, aside from stimulation, stands mainly in need of freedom; without this it goes to wrack and ruin without fail."
